Hi, I'm Russell.

I work in Information Technology Management, managing cloud platoforms, web hosting infrastructure, Linux, and Windows Server environments with my team. Day to day that means server configuration, hosting platforms, and keeping things running for people who'd rather not know how the sausage gets made.

Outside of work, I'm an avid board gamer, TTRPG'er, reader, and occasional ballroom dancer.

How I think about this

Simplicity Fewer moving parts, fewer ways to fail. The same principle that keeps a server easy to secure keeps a website easy to trust: cut anything that isn't load-bearing.
Reliability A system you can explain in one sentence is a system you can actually reason about when something goes wrong.
Ownership I'd rather understand every part of something small than half-understand something large.
